Wilsons fame was surpassed by the U.S. in 2014, after she was cast on Showtimes The Affair. In the show, she played Alison Lockhart who is a young, troubled girl who comes from a rough background. Lockhart falls for the love of her life, Noah Solloway. Wilson received the Golden Globe award for Best Actress In A Television Series Drama, alongside Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson spoke to British Vogue back in 2015 stated that she was enjoying playing characters from two different perspectives. Noah views Alison as a confident, unpretentious and sexually attractive light. But Alison views herself in an entirely other light. Inside, she feels dowdy. The actress added "I think America is a moral nation and they're very critical. Everything that happens in the show appears horrifying."
